DEVELOPERS CONFIRM WORK ON XBOX ONE VR KIT

So if these reports are true that Microsoft's XBOX One HMD is already in the hands of developers that would mean it is not one and the same as eMagin's iHMD which is still in development and yet to be shown to prospective customers. eMagin management said they would demo it to interested parties in early 2015. Some reports say that Miccrosoft's HMD announcement refers to Microsoft's Project "B" which is for a VR HMD, others like GTA's Zelnick, who demoed it left open the possibility that it was the RoomAlive System similar to the one described in Project Fortaleza. On second thought eMagin CEO Sculley anticipated that ALL VR HMDs would eventually use microdisplays so it's possible that Microsoft and eMagin developed Immersive HMDs on parallel tracks using the same displays. eMagin promised a rollout, safe to anticipate a slow rollout of details on their device so hopefully the fog will lift in time.



Several studios have confirmed to VRFocus that they are working with the device, while Techradar has also received similar information that suggests teams have already begun work on software for the kit. No specific information about the device itself or exactly which videogames are in development for it has been revealed just yet.
